Brettski. Hi Matt, my name is Brettski and I'm from S.E. Mass. I too am a self-confessed backyard sniper and I think your site is awesome! I've included some pics of recent kills. My primary weapon at the moment is a Chinese B-3-2 spring gun, chambered in .177, that I bought for $21(tax inc.) at a Cummin's truckload sale that came to town. I fitted her with a cheap sling, a Tasco 3-7X20 scope that a friend lent to me, and gave her the "Eddie's slick 50 treatment". The "Eddie's"
treatment completely transformed the gun from near
useless(power-wise) to quite efficient at distances of less than 40 yds, provided that the shot is well- placed. Victim #1 was taken from a paced off 33yds!
You can see the entry wound, just behind the left ear.
The next pic shows(sort of)the exit wound, just ahead of the right ear. As you can see, massive amounts of blood. I found blood spatters as far as 3 ft away from the point of impact! He just folded, as he stood on the ground, eating bird seed. Twitched a leg and his tail once or twice, and that was it.
Victim #2 was taken at a paced off 18 yds. I missed the first shot, and the enemy made the fatal mistake of stopping during his run for safety, thinking he was hidden in the thick brush. My second shot was rewarded with a heavy "THWOP". He ran across the stone wall for about 10-15 ft and folded up in a heap. The entry wound can be seen just above the left shoulder. The exit wound was straight outta the belly!

In both cases, the projectile used was the 7.9 gr.
Crosman pointed hunting pellet. I find these pellets to not only be cheap and easy to find, but they are also very good for penetration, as you can well see. I long for the day when I can upgrade to a better weapon with real stopping power and a reasonable trigger pull, but it just goes to show that shot placement and a decent pellet are more critical than outright power.

Chad's Rabbit . i was stalking a gray squirrel, when this guy jumped out of the bushes, and ran for 20 yards then stopped, I shot at about 25 yards, the 13.9gr. pellet pasted threw its eye and came out under it front leg. He droped on the spot.

Chad's Shadow . shot this bird at 55 yards with my Gamo shadow 1000 with a .177 Gamo magnum pellet.

Chad Strikes Again. Shot this one with my Benjamin 392 with a rws super point at around 25 yards

Colt's Squirrel . It was a cold day on Nov .10th when a friend and I were off on our daily hunting trip. We had been out for about one hour and as we were walking through the orchard across from my home I noticed this squirrel running up and down the limbs of a tree. It stopped and called out as I lined up my sites on my (Marksman 1790 series 177. cal. 495 fps) Pulling the trigger he suddenly dropped from the tree. I walked toward him to find I had got him with a head shot. What a way to finish a hunting trip, adding another squirrel to my collection.

Dave W . Here is a pic of a cotton tail I shot offhand at around 40 yards. Oddly enough, the JSB that was rocketing towards the rabbit at 950 fps for 31 FPE didnt go all the way through his head, but it did kill him in a few quick seconds.

Black Squirrel . Drew took this nifty black squirrel with his Logun Domin8tr in .22. Greay squirrels come in a variety of colors from white to black. And in small areas like Condominium complexes where the squirrels are kept from interbreeding, you can get whole populations of black squirrels

A brace of Squirrels. The deadly Domin8tr strikes again. Hey Drew, How about missing once in a while?

Hitman's Fast Deer. Squirrel 58, got the new fast deer the other day and was sighting it in and guess what happened along, well he didn't give me much choice, to make a long story short the Fast Deer, 177 cal. with wadcutters took him down.

My Trophy Mouse. Drew and I were hunting together and were trudging through the thick stuff when I spied this monster. I stopped Drew in his tracks for fear that all the excitement would promote an attack. In the same instance I raised the 2240 and fired. It was a tense moment but as the C02 cleared I could see the beast had been anchored on the spot. Drew was white as a sheet and he assured me his pants were wet from a spilled canteen. The great white hunters are victorious again.

A nice Cottontail. I took this bunny with my 2240 carbine at 15yds. I was walking a trail and had just turned the corner when the bunny bolted from under a bush. He stopped on the trail a few yards away just long enough for the shot.

Jack Flynn-WOW!! . Did a little urban squirrel hunting last week. Received permission from some four different neighbors around my parents house to lower the ever expanding squirrel population that eats every thing in sight. To my joy their is also a tremendous population of doves their also. I was working midnight shift and just left work for where I was raised last Sat. morning. (only fifteen minutes away) Didn't want to wake the parents so just sat in the truck for 30 minutes till light enough to see. Loaded several Falcon magazines up with .22 accupells while waiting. At the crack of light I could see in a tree 30 yds. away and the first "volunteer" was stirring already. Grabbed the FN19 walnut skeleton stocked .22 and magazines and set them on my parents car. "urban hunting" for sure. No pellet gun ordinance either. To my surprise three were already in the top of a leafless tree over 35 yds. away just sitting in that round ball they like to form. Time to get down to business. I worked the smooth raptor action and knelt down. Psst, the first one falls and thump. Cycled the bolt and the second one falls with a thump. One more cycle of the raptor action and squirrels were littering the ground under the leafless tree. All in about 30 seconds or so. I heard some thing in the tree across the next door neighbors yard and thump another was on the ground. Just then my mother looks out the side door and comes out and turns into a spotter for me. Pulls up a chair and a cup of coffee and enjoys watching what her right a 50 yr. old son enjoys doing. Both my parents are in their mid eighties. She asks the question I will never forget and that is, that squirrel fell over there "did you shoot? I didn't here you shoot" I replied yes and explained about the Falcon QF mod. Dad comes out the door and lets me know one is in the front yard. They live on 3 acres. Psst and another down. Doves have truly become suburban for sure, they are lighting all over the telephone lines and trees. Time for some of them too. I take two out quickly and Dad says there's another one lit on that tree. It's down too. The FN19 set at 16 or a tad better fpe is tough to beat seems like and extremely quiet at that power level. No pass throughs at all on the squirrels and half have the pellet lodged under the skin on the opposite side. The accupells I recovered looked like new with no deforming at all from impact. You can really hear that thump when hit though. Looked way past the old catawba worm tree and another is sitting on it's haunches on top of a big broken off limb. Between 40 and 50 yds. I put the Swift premiers first mildot on the top of his head and thump he does the usual breakdance they perform when head shot. Mom says he is going too get away, I know bwtter and explain the ritual to her. After this trip I am considering lowering the power on my FN12 to about 16 fpe as it is at a little over 22 fpe now. I'm gonna try and deplete the population down to a reasonable level for them. I'm at home and in bed before 10 am.

Crow Magnum and Squirrel. "I lurk around your website and message board once in a while and wanted to offer a photo of a fine piston hunting rig with quarry for your gallery.
I've made better shots but this is the best picture I have.
After sitting for about 1/2 an hour listening to squirrels foraging just out of sight I called this one in using the two quarters rubbing trick. He was a few feet up a tree trunk about 15 yards away. I tried for a head shot but my adrenaline shakes got the better of me. Luckily, the Crow Magum III in .25 shooting Kodiak Match pellets is very forgiving on body shots (scope is Leupold 3-9x33 EFR). This one ran about 10 ft before giving up the ghost.
Later that day I dropped one dead from about 25 yards away and 50 ft high with a Kodiak through the forearm, ribcage, and spine. That picture was blurry, though. Few things are as satisfying as the thwop these pellets make when they hit their mark. I hunt on public lands in upstate NY.
